The reason I like to work for Moorings Park is because it is a wonderful place to work.

I enjoy working here. I like my coworkers and I really enjoy my residents.  I look forward to coming in everyday to see the residents and greet them with a smile, they  look forward to this as well.. 

One of the things I appreciate about Moorings Park is the help you receive. For example, I received help from the Moorings Park Foundation for a scholarship for my daughter to go to school. At Moorings Park they don't only worry about you, but also your family and your family's well being.

One thing about Moorings Park is that we all work as a team just like a family to help each other. This is the place where I have worked over 20 years and the place where I am hoping to retire from.

Why I love Moorings Park

Twelve years ago when I was searching for a job, everyone told me I should find an environment that I was truly happy in to spend my elder years working at. Through these twelve years I can truthfully say Moorings Park is a place I call home. I have felt love and affection from all the co-workers and residents since the very first day I walked in. Through the years I feel as if we have grown into one big, happy family; from the youngest employee to the oldest resident.

Likewise, I love what I do at Moorings Park. It feels amazing to wake up everyday and go to work knowing you're helping people that really appreciate the assistance you give them. It improves my life day by day knowing I can make such a difference in someone else's life.  I have respectfully learned the meaning of rise and shine. As I get up and go to work I know as I am helping others it really makes me shine and grow into a better person. While working at Moorings Park I have also accurately learned the true meaning of hospitality. My job is not just a job but the responsibility of making guests feel comfortable and welcome. This is something I look forward to day to day, and will continue to take pleasure in.

Another reason why I love Moorings Park so much is due to the security and protection it brings me. They provide benefits that ensure I will be taken care of. If I get ill or have a family emergency, I know I am able to take off without penalty due to the generous paid time off benefit I receive.  It is satisfying to know that you can be well taken care due to the retirement and healthcare plan they give employees.

Without my experience at Moorings Park I would not be the caring, loving, and helpful person I am today, which is why I enjoy working at Moorings Park."

I came to the United States from Cuba in 1995. In 1996 I obtained a landscaping position with Moorings Park.  Seven years later I was given the opportunity to work as a maintenance technician.  I felt very fortunate to have been offered this position and have been happily doing that now for the past 6 years!

I appreciated the opportunity that this position gave me to learn the large variety of skills needed to be a thorough maintenance technician. It has also caused me to greatly improve my English language skills, which has helped me both at work and at home.  What a rewarding place to work!

I consider myself to be lucky in that I really look forward to coming to work everyday; I try to better myself as I go along and hopefully that will better improve things for the residents that we take care of.

What Working for Moorings Park has Meant to Me

I started working for Moorings Park in 1986 as a housekeeper.  My family had moved to Naples and I found the only skills I had to market were those of a homemaker.  I knew little about Moorings Park, except that it was a retirement community and that the people who greeted me seemed to be nice.  Little did I know that I would be embarking on an adventure of a lifetime!  Moorings Park gave me opportunities and through ongoing education I was able to shift gears, transferring from housekeeper to a secretary position and then to the accounting office.  As the years went by, I continued my education through Moorings Park's benefit package, and was able to obtain a Bachelor's Degree from USF, and an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University.  Along the way I made many friends, was mentored by the best, and came to love all the residents of Moorings Park.  I also worked in many positions, and have been in my current position since 2001.  Life is never dull, with new challenges every day, but every employee here (or as we call ourselves, "Partner") knows that they are working for the BEST company, in every way.  We are committed to our Mission of providing premiere facilities, services and programs to our residents and we work every day with the pride of knowing that we provide those services professionally, with the compassion of partners who are passionate about their work."

There are really too many reasons to list why I love working at Moorings Park, so I will begin with the number 1 reason.

The Residents

It has been and continues to be a wonderful opportunity to not only care for each resident but to get to know them and their families and friends as well.  No matter their needs, each one is unique in their own way and leave you amazed by their talents and stories of their past.  One of the greatest feelings of achievements to me is to see the improvement in their lives as they start to realize they once again belong to a family of acquaintances and friends and begin to participate and enjoy their lives once again.

The Staff

They say you spend more time with your co-workers than your own family.  With that being said, I am proud to be part of an organization where the employees truly respect and care for one another.  It makes coming to work and doing my job so much easier and enjoyable.
