This Gulf Coast retreat is well known for its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation. Marco Island is a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you like camping or canoeing, visit Collier-Seminole State Park which lies partly within the great mangrove swamp of South Florida. Or venture to Briggs Nature Center which features a half-mile boardwalk where visitors can observe wildlife in its natural habitat.

The island is also home to some of the best restaurants in Florida. From fresh seafood to mouth-watering steaks, you can find something to satisfy any craving on Marco Island.

2. Everglades

The Everglades is a natural region of tropical and subtropical wetlands in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida, comprising the southern half of the Florida peninsula. It is the largest tropical wilderness in the United States. The Everglades are home to more than 1,500 plants, including at least 50 threatened or endangered species. More than 300 species, including the American bald eagle, nest in the Everglades, and alligators, crocodiles, and manatees are common inhabitants.
