The Collier County Board of Commissioners (BCC) on Tuesday, will recognize Moorings Park as Business of the Month. Designed to be a joint program between Collier County Government and the Economic Development Council of Collier County (EDC), Business of the Month helps to recognize business owners who advance innovation through entrepreneurial activity within the community. Moorings Park President and CEO Dan Lavender will accept the award on behalf of more than 600 employees.
Since it was founded in 1979, Moorings Park has become known throughout the region as the embodiment of quality and prestige. It is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit; Medicare-certified community and the only A+ Fitch-rated continuing care retirement community in the country. Located on 83 acres in the City of Naples, Moorings Park is home to almost 700 residents; 357 independent living residences, 74 assisted living apartments and 106 skilled nursing beds. In addition, Moorings Park offers home health care services and rehabilitation and outpatient services to the greater Naples community.
Moorings Park has served to bolster the economic climate of the Collier County community through successful job creation. The community has consistently expanded its residential offerings and services. In 2004, 54 independent living residences were added and in 2007, 29 independent living residences and 30 assisted living apartments were completed. In November construction began on three new buildings, this will soon bring another 29 independent living residences to Moorings Park. Moorings Park has grown to employ 640 staff members to meet these needs and will add additional employees when the current project is completed.
As a 501c3, not-for-profit organization; Moorings Park is invested in the Collier County community at-large and has received national recognition for its social accountability. "We were presented with the 2010 Communitas Award which recognizes community outreach as leaders in social accountability and giving. Social accountability is a part of our core values," said Trish Biebricher, VP Marketing and Communications.
