1. Listen to Audio Books

Most books are now available in an audio version and all audiobooks are available online these days. If you’re looking to go on a literary adventure or get lost in a great story, there are seemingly infinite options available in all genres.

2. Watch Old Movies

Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane, Casablanca. It doesn't matter what your favorite old movie is, you can probably find it online whether through a streaming service like Netflix or renting it through Amazon. Satisfy your inner cinephile and dive deep into the treasure trove of  old-school Hollywood or catch up on the newest movies available.

3. Assemble Jigsaw Puzzles

It may be considered old-school, but there’s never been a better time to revive this old favorite than right now. A puzzle of 1,000 pieces or more can keep you occupied for several days while assembling scenic landscapes or your favorite movie poster. Puzzles are fantastic ways to occupy your mind.

4. Do Crossword or Word Search Puzzles

Crossword and word search puzzles are excellent ways to keep the brain active and new puzzles are available daily. Look to newspaper websites like the New York Times for a new puzzle every day. All you need to do is print it off!

5. Exercise

There are many websites and television programs that are meant to keep us moving even though we are confined to our homes. Yoga  is perfect for keeping both the body and the mind in shape. You can also find some everyday items to assist you in your daily exercise routines. If you venture online, you’ll find plenty of YouTube videos that will walk you through new exercises and even full exercise classes designed to keep active and healthy.

6. Binge Watch a Television Series

There’s never been a better time to binge-watch a new television series than now. Whether you prefer a period piece or sci-fi, there’s something waiting for you on the multitude of streaming services available online like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Disney+, and much more.

7. Read or Re-read a Good Book

Now is the time to read that book you never seemed to have the time for. Better yet, re-read an old favorite and see what things you pick up on that you missed the first time around. And let’s not forget that books you used to read to your children can bring back fun memories and put you in a light-hearted mental state. As we all know, technology has reached the world of literature. An Amazon Kindle not only lets you store thousands of books on one device, but you can also buy and download books digitally without having to leave home.

8. Make Fun Snacks

With just simple ingredients you can make fun, healthy snack foods right at home. Baking your own homemade bread has become a popular trend lately and there are tons of different kinds to try out. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Try new ingredients and new recipes to broaden your culinary horizons.

9. Get Reacquainted with the Telephone

Before texts and emails, some of us spent hours on the telephone talking to our friends and family. Reignite that old habit. Get out your phone book and catch up with people you maybe haven't had a conversation with in years. You'll not only feel better, but you will brighten someone else's day as well.

10. Visit World-Famous Museums from your Couch

You don't have to travel to France to see the Louvre. Thanks to the internet, we can view this world-famous museum and more from the comfort of our homes. Many local museums also offer this service. Pick a city or a theme and spend the day exploring!
