The multi-faceted landscape design at Moorings Park at Grey Oaks works in harmony with the building architecture to provide a comforting sense of place. The palette includes mature Live Oaks, Shady Lady Black Olives, and Magnolias arranged in a beautiful pattern accentuating their color, texture, and form. Stately Royal Palms and striking Silver Bismarck Palms add an awe inspiring boldness to the landscape. A solid perimeter wall, interior facing water features, and colorful understory plantings transform the landscape buffer into a memorable feature. Perimeter wall plantings on the outside of the wall fronting Airport-Pulling Road enhance the experience of passersby.

The North and South entrances to Moorings Park at Grey Oaks incorporate gate houses, richly patterned specialty pavers, and inviting water features. The North entrance emphasizes Elegant Live Oaks with understory massing of seasonal color to reflect the landscape imagery of the neighboring Estuary at Grey Oaks neighborhood. The South entrance has a palette of Royal palms, Silver Latan palms, and a layered texture of Ixora, variegated Arboricola, Green Island Ficus, pink flowered Hawthorne and Flax lilies along with Pentas, Lantana, and Impatiens for seasonal color.

The gardens created by JRL Design Studios define and link Moorings Park at Grey Oaks’ neighborhoods. The distinctive gardens put the human spirit in touch with nature while evoking inspiration, aspiration, calmness, vitality, energy, solitude, and beauty. The Phase I Aqua Gardens offers a beautiful 30 x 50-feet European vanishing edge swimming pool and spacious sunning deck flanked by reflective linear water features lined with flowering trees that display white blooms at various times of the year. At one end is a pool cabana. At the other is a Bougainvillea draped arbor that serves as a gathering place. The pool is surrounded by Foxtail palms and a pink Ixora understory. A mix of tropical palms and colorful understory throughout the garden provides a captivating place to spend time and presents a spectacular view from the surrounding residences.

A multi-tiered tropical water feature with two Silver Date palms and plantings with beautiful fragrances, including ginger, gardenias, confederate jasmine and Ylang Ylang trees, provides the focal point of the Phase II Jasmine Gardens. The plantings in the garden's design are intended to provide nectar to attract butterflies. An open lawn blanketed with Japanese Empire Zoysia grass and surrounded by a collection of paths gives the garden a sense of spaciousness ideal for meandering and enjoying the sounds of fountains and the colorful butterflies. Along the paths are several intimate places for contemplation and an arbor covered with lavender Queen’s Wreath for small groups to socialize. This garden also affords residents wonderful views. The landscape palette offers a variety of color and its rich details extend an invitation to spend time and enjoy the beauty.

The Phase III Viridian Gardens provides an open green space fronting the spacious and distinctive Clubhouse, Bistro, Oakstone Assisted Living and Memory Care, and Center for Healthy Living being built at Grande Place in Phase IV. As planned, the Clubhouse will feature casual and fine dining, as well as a lounge, ballroom, crafts room, wellness center, pool, spa and salon. An arbor in the center of the space is designed to provide a place to gather with neighbors, family members, and friends. Open multi-purpose lawn areas with finely textured grasses will host a variety of activities, including bocce ball and lawn bowling, and offer an outdoor venue for yoga classes, special events, and entertainment on special occasions. The planting palette includes tropical palms and flowering trees offering brightness and contrast juxtaposed against the verdant lawn. Two fountains are intended to instill vitality and energy.

As planned, the landscaping at Grande Place will establish a tropical resort-like ambiance. The North Arrival area is slated to feature a Bosque of Silver Date palms and an inviting reflecting pool. The South Arrival area is intended to mirror the Bosque of Silver Dates and to be flanked by two facing water wall features. Plans call for both arrival areas to convey a sense of established place while being welcoming, elegant, and quiet at the same time.

As planned, the resort-style pool at the Clubhouse will offer a tropical paradise with an entrance featuring an exciting multi-level water feature, an arbor covered spa, mural wall accents, cabana and chaise lounge decks, and indoor and poolside dining served by the Bistro restaurant. The planting palette is slated to focus on Silver Date palms, flowering shrubs, and groundcovers. Highlighting plans for the Clubhouse are two elaborate roof-top gardens. The gardens are intended to function as entertainment areas, event gathering spaces, outdoor dining, fitness and exercise areas, and places for Memory Care garden activities. The garden designs feature circulation paths, arbors, outdoor fireplaces, an intimate social place surrounding a fire pit, water features, and special lighting effects to enhance the after dark experience.
