Moorings Park at Grey Oaks to Mark Historic Groundbreaking Wednesday Morning

Wednesday morning, April 16, Moorings Park at Grey Oaks will break ground on Phase I construction of a Continuing Care Retirement Community at the corner of Airport-Pulling Road and Golden Gate Parkway.

Moorings Park’s CEO Dan Lavender and Vice President of Resident Services Steve Brinkert will be joined by the community’s future residents, Katie Sproul of Halstatt Real Estate Partners — the developer of Grey Oaks Country Club, Grey Oaks Chairman of the Board Jerry Kerr, and members of the project’s design/build team to celebrate the historic occasion. The design/build team includes Sotolongo Salman Henderson Architects Inc., Perkins Eastman, Wegman Design Group Inc., JRL Landscape Design Studios, CC Devco Homes, Kaufman Lynn Construction, and Softrim Corp.

Moorings Park at Grey Oaks is the result of a historic partnership between two of the United States’ most highly recognized and acknowledged brands in their respective fields. The project provides an opportunity to enjoy the best of a holistic approach to living well in an enclave of elegant homes that provides the high-quality health care and lifestyle programs of a renowned retirement community along with the ambiance, amenities and activities of Grey Oaks Country Club. A Sports Membership at Grey Oaks Country Club is included with each residence at Moorings Park at Grey Oaks. Moorings Park at Grey Oaks residents will enjoy Grey Oaks’ world-class amenities, including full golf privileges from May 1 through October 31 and other selected amenities throughout the year.

Grey Oaks Country Club has been recognized as one of America’s Top 100 Golf Communities by Travel & Leisure and listed as one of an exclusive group of private clubs named Premier Properties by LINKS Magazine in its Golf Real Estate Guide. The Club Leaders Forum has named Grey Oaks Country Club a Platinum Club of America on multiple occasions. The Platinum Club rating is conducted every three years and identifies America’s most highly regarded clubs. Platinum Clubs represent the top 4 percent of America’s 5,000 private clubs.

Phase I construction will include completion of Moorings Park at Grey Oaks’ first four buildings.Each building will include four floors over parking with one or two residences per floor. Phase I will also include completion of the Aqua Gardens that will feature a resort-style pool with lush landscaping. At build-out, the community will include luxury residences in 12 buildings, a spacious and distinctive clubhouse, Center for Healthy Living, and an Assisted Living and Memory Care facility. Total build-out of Moorings Park at Grey Oaks will be completed over four phases with all of the residences completed at the end of Phase III and the clubhouse completed at the end of Phase IV. Completion of Phase I construction is anticipated during the second half of 2015.

Moorings Park at Grey Oaks has been designed and is being built with the intention of achieving LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is an acronym for “Leadership in Energy and Environment Design.” LEED Certification requires a fully-integrated design and construction process that begins at the earliest conceptual levels and continues through finished building maintenance practices. A LEED Certified building is a healthier, more efficient building that is good for the environment and for those who live and work within it. Moorings Park has made a commitment to LEED building practices and to being responsible stewards when it comes to the environment and recycling.

With Phase I construction starting this week, and over 80 percent of Phase II reservations already received, Moorings Park at Grey Oaks is now accepting reservations for Phase III residences. Phase III is the last residential phase at Moorings Park at Grey Oaks. Homebuyers are encouraged to make their reservations now as opportunities at Moorings Park at Grey Oaks are limited.

Phase III will include completion of the community’s final four buildings and offers three floor plan choices priced from $1.4 million. The two garden home residences at Moorings Park at Grey Oaks provide an opportunity to transition to a spacious, elegantly appointed home in a maintenance-free environment. The 3,007- and 2,873-square-foot, two-bedroom plus den, two-and-a-half bath garden home plans include a private elevator vestibule, entry courtyard, spacious great room, adjoining island-kitchen and breakfast area, wet bar, vaulted ceilings and a large master suite with walk-in closets and a beautiful master bath. Both floor plans offer spacious lanais and balconies with outdoor kitchens designed to enhance the day-to-day living and entertaining experience.

The 6,000-square-foot penthouse style Perla plan will encompass an entire building floor. The Perla plan provides spacious entertainment and living areas while offering residents and guests more personal retreats in a sprawling master suite and guest quarters that include sitting rooms and elegant baths.Each of the three bedrooms includes a walk-in closet. Two entry courtyards open to the Perla’s spacious foyer that serves as a point of welcome and the center of a wide gallery hallway that connects the day-to-day living and private areas of the home. A casual dining area and oversized, gourmet island kitchen flow into a grand salon with a wet bar and fully-pocketing sliders that open to a covered terrace with a comfortable sitting area, an outdoor kitchen, and an outdoor dining area. The plan also offers a formal dining room that can accommodate a dining table with seating for ten. A private study/library in the master suite, a second study in the owner’s wing, a powder bath, a butler’s pantry, a kitchen pantry that provides space for an optional wine storage area, and numerous large storage closets are also included.

Each floor plan includes premium finishes, including porcelain tile flooring in the living areas, wood flooring in the den, carpeted bedrooms, granite kitchen countertops, marble countertops in the baths and maple cabinetry in various styles and stains. Products from quality brand names such as Kohler, Jenn-Air, Kitchen Craft, Dynasty, Omega, Keyes Granite, Mohawk Flooring and others are included. Optional finishes are available.

Phase III will also include completion of the Viridian Gardens, one of three 80,000-square-foot gardens designed for the Moorings Park at Grey Oaks campus by JRL Landscape Design Studios. Plans call for the Viridian Gardens to provide an open green space adjacent to the Grande Place which includes the community’s clubhouse, the Center for Healthy Living, an Extended Congregate Care Licensed Assisted Living Center andMemory Care Center. The clubhouse will feature casual and fine dining venues, a lounge, library, pool, spa and salon.
