March 10, 2015

Moorings Park® announced it will be holding a Platinum Membership Program informational event and luncheon beginning at 11:00 a.m. this Thursday, March 19, at the Center for Healthy Living located on the Moorings Park campus at 132 Moorings Park Drive just south of Pine Ridge Road off Goodlette-Frank Road in Naples. Lunch will be served at the Trio Restaurant on the Moorings Park campus. Those attending are asked to RSVP by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, by calling 239.643.9111.

Moorings Park is a nationally accredited, nonprofit, Medicare certified community and one of the only A+ S&P and Fitch rated Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the country. Moorings Park has been repeatedly acknowledged as Southwest Florida's premier retirement community for more than 30 years and is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in the City of Naples. Moorings Park's holistic approach to living well and continuum of care are provided at a predictable and affordable cost with no increase in monthly fees if a change in the level of care is required.

The Platinum Membership Program is designed to allow non-residents and future residents of Moorings Park to enjoy the amenities and physician services available at Moorings Park’s Goodlette-Frank Road campus and will assist seniors with making informed decisions about their retirement. The Platinum Membership is available for a one-time-only membership fee plus an affordable monthly charge and allows seniors to sample Moorings Park’s amenities and services prior to committing to residency. The membership fee can be applied to residency entrance fees at Moorings Park's 83-acre Goodlette-Frank Road campus, or at the Moorings Park at Grey Oaks campus currently under construction at Airport-Pulling Road and Golden Gate Parkway, once the decision to move into Moorings Park is made.

"For retirees, quality of life is determined by many things, most notably the freedom to enjoy an active lifestyle and the security of knowing their long-term needs will be met," said Moorings Park Chief Executive Officer Dan Lavender. "We feel it is important for seniors to have the opportunity to sample Moorings Park's high-quality continuum of care and lifestyle programs, particularly those who already have an appreciation for what Moorings Park offers and are looking forward to making it their future home. The Platinum Membership has been designed to provide that opportunity."

To provide those considering Moorings Park as their future home with as much flexibility as possible, Platinum Members will receive 24-Month Moorings Assessment Protocol (MAP) protection. All residents of Moorings Park are required to undergo an assessment which qualifies them for Independent Living. Platinum Members may choose to undergo this assessment and defer admission to Moorings Park for up to 24 months from the date of the assessment. This benefit protects the opportunity to secure a residence at Moorings Park.

The Platinum Membership includes access to the wellness services at The Center for Healthy Living at Moorings Park's Goodlette-Frank Road campus, a state-of-the-art facility offering resident and member-focused physician based services that improve healthcare delivery, expand users' knowledge of the aging process, and introduce new approaches to wellness that celebrate the positive aspects of aging while optimizing vitality and happiness. On-site, primary care physician services are provided to members through Moorings Park's Premier Senior Health Care Program that offers personalized healthcare based on a model akin to a traditional family practice. Patients can expect care that emphasizes accessibility, personal attention, and compassion. The Premier Senior Health Care Program is available to Platinum members with no additional charges, other than typical co-pays. Third-party billing to Medicare will occur for services when appropriate.

Chief Medical Director Dr. F. Michael Gloth, a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society and Fellowship trained at Johns Hopkins University, oversees the Premier Senior Health Care Program and all medical services at Moorings Park. The comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) is provided to Platinum members by Moorings Park's licensed professional Geriatric specialists. The thorough evaluation encompasses medical, psychological and functional capabilities. In addition to the evaluation of the patient's overall well-being, health and quality of life, the comprehensive geriatric assessment evaluates risk factors for functional decline and provides a plan to optimize functional well-being while putting together processes to facilitate achieving the goals outlined in the plan. Through an interdisciplinary team of providers, an emphasis is placed on promoting an independent lifestyle. Social, spiritual, physical and cognitive domains of health are all part of the evaluation structure.

Additional services available to Platinum members at the Center for Healthy Living include a complimentary monthly spa treatment at the Rejuvenate Salon and Spa that features hair styling, facials, manicures and pedicures, massages and aromatherapy; a complimentary monthly personal training session that offers safe and effective exercise programs tailored to meet individual fitness needs; outpatient rehabilitation services; and access to the Center for Healthy Living's state-of-the-art Sheffield Theatre, special events, and internet cafe.
