“We had built a new home five years ago, and we built it for caregivers [to be able to stay with us]. When we came here, the more we talked to people at Moorings Park Communities, we thought we will be completely isolated if we stay in that home,” Moorings Park Grande Lake resident, Karen Schneider, recalls. “[We also knew] that long-term caregivers are few and far between, especially the good ones. And so, the more we thought about it, [we realized] we are not losing control. We are taking total control.”

Relocating to a senior living community is a proactive decision that ensures your future well-being and happiness. Moorings Park Communities, the number one senior living destination in Southwest Florida, attracts the affluent boomer or senior who is ready to successfully age in a community of like-minded individuals. However, deciding to move into a Moorings Park community is just the first step. There are many other factors to consider when planning your future retirement, and in many cases, it’s crucial to plan months, if not years, in advance.

“What most people don’t recognize, is that at all three of our Life Plan Communities, there is typically a two to two-and-a-half year wait to secure the residence of their choice,” notes Tom Mann, Moorings Park Communities Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “If you want to continue to enjoy this country-club lifestyle and have Southwest Florida’s best healthcare to take care of the what-ifs, this really takes some planning.”

Thoughtful Planning Yields Joyful Living

Think about the last time you bought a home. It was most likely a lengthy process that began with pinpointing your price range, deciding on the neighborhood you wished to reside in, and determining what features and amenities you wanted the home and neighborhood to offer you and your family. Moving into a Moorings Park Communities neighborhood is no different and requires thoughtful planning in order to successfully settle into your new home.

Aside from unequivocal access to higher levels of care that you obtain with residency, Moorings Park Communities’ three Naples-based locations are all unique. From the look and feel of the neighborhood, the size and design of the residences, and cost of residency, Moorings Park, Moorings Park at Grey Oaks, and Moorings Park Grande Lake each offer residents something different, and these differences contribute to the varying processes of applying to move into each community.

Mooring Park: Attainable Luxury Starting at $552,000

Nestled among 83 acres of lakes, gardens and preserves on the corner of Goodlette-Frank Road and Pine Ridge Road, Moorings Park’s original campus is also its largest community. Moorings Park offers a variety of maintenance-free residential options that range from one-bedroom Tower Residences to gracious three-bedroom/three-bathroom Waterside Residences boasting more than 5,000 square feet of living area.

Each pet-friendly residence overlooks picturesque lakes, lush landscaping, or the breathtaking scenery of the neighboring golf and country club and can be personalized in the in-house selection studio to create a truly custom home. At Moorings Park, you can enjoy long walks across rubberized walking paths through the grounds, which is truly a botanical wonderland, as well as a variety of amenities, activities, and dining options.

While all Moorings Park Communities residents can access a variety of healthcare services if needed, Moorings Park residents have the added value benefit of the onsite Medicare-certified, five-star-rated Chateau® skilled nursing center, as well as the Orchid Terrace assisted living and memory care residences.

With over 60 different floor plans to browse through, flexibility and freedom have never been more attainable, with refundable entrance fees starting at $552,000. However, while a small number of residences may be available at the time you decide to transition into senior living, some of the larger residences require a two year wait.

Mooring Park at Grey Oaks: the Best of Both Worlds

Located at the corner of Airport Pulling Road and Golden Gate Parkway, Moorings Park at Grey Oaks offers beautiful Mediterranean-inspired residences that range from 2,000 to over 7,000 square feet featuring stately courtyards, expansive lanais, and balconies. These versatile pet-friendly floor plans can also be customized in a selection studio.

At Moorings Park at Grey Oaks, you’ll enjoy walks across rubberized walking paths, trips to the rooftop garden and fire pits, as well as a variety of other amenities, activities, and dining options. Plus, Moorings Park at Grey Oaks’ partnership with Grey Oaks Country Club (GOCC) automatically provides residents with a GOCC Sports Membership, which offers access to the Grey Oaks championship golf courses, a tennis center, wellness center, and more.

With refundable entrance fees starting at $1.1M, the Moorings Park at Grey Oaks lifestyle truly is the best of both worlds. Residents have the benefit of the onsite Oakstone assisted living and memory care center, if needed, paired with ultimate country club living through the partnership with GOCC. However, being the smallest Moorings Park Communities neighborhood, residency is highly competitive and there is likely to be at least a two year wait for all residences.

Mooring Park Grande Lake: Luxurious Lakefront Living

A pristine 55-acre lakefront setting just off of Golden Gate Parkway sets the tone for the coastal-inspired residences of Moorings Park Grande Lake. With stunning lake and golf course views, each pet-friendly residence ranges from 2,700 to over 10,000 square feet, exhibits an unparalleled level of craftsmanship, and can be personalized in a London Bay Selection Studio. In this luxury resort setting, you’ll enjoy morning swims across the lakeside pool, daily walks on rubberized walking paths along the serene lake, and more.

Moorings Park Grande Lake is the most exclusive Moorings Park Communities neighborhood, with the 70% refundable entrance deposits starting at $3.2M. As this is a new community, residences are being reserved more than two years out prior to occupancy.

Released for sale in late November 2023, Eagleview, Moorings Park Grande Lake’s newest collection of Life Plan residences, is still under construction, with an estimated move-in date of the third quarter of 2026. For those interested in reserving a spot in this premier residential building, which happens to be the only building in the community with a covered walkway to the clubhouse, it’s crucial to reserve your spot now. Eagleview is already 50% reserved.

How to Secure Prioritization

There is a way to secure prioritization: a Platinum membership, designed for future residents who anticipate moving into Moorings Park or Moorings Park at Grey Oaks within one to two years. This membership is available for a one-time-only fee, which can be applied directly to residency entrance fees, plus a monthly charge. Membership includes access to the Center for Healthy Living, prioritized access to healthcare services and other campus privileges, and more. However, the most important aspect about this membership is that is provides prioritized access to all available residences.

At Moorings Park Grande Lake, there is no waiting list, although people who reserve their residences today will have to wait until the third quarter of 2026 to take occupancy, as their building is still being built. It is important to note that buildings at Moorings Park Grande Lake reserve very quickly, which means if you don’t reserve soon, you will have to wait even longer than two and a half years.
