Featuring three luxurious residential buildings, 29 residences, a rooftop garden and the new Trio restaurant, the Waterside homes range from
1,800 to 5,550 square feet.

LEED for Homes is a green home certification program that rewards homes that are designed and built to be energy- and resource-efficient and more healthy and durable for the occupants. LEED-certified homes complete a technically rigorous process that often includes a home energy (HERS) rating and onsite inspections to verify that the home is built to be energy and water efficient, environmentally sound, and a healthier place to live.

The Waterside residences were built by Manhattan-Kraft and designed by Perkins Eastman, Burt Hill Pollack & Krieg and Wegman Design Group, each known for their expertise in building to LEED specifications. Green homes may have substantially lower utility bills and may qualify for advantageous financing, lower insurance rates and government incentives.

“At Moorings Park, we recognize that our indoor environment has a significant impact on our health and well-being and we are pleased with the development of LEED standards to help guide us,” said Dan Lavender, CEO. “By achieving certification, the Waterside Neighborhood is recognized as a more healthy, high-performing place to live.”

The silver certification was achieved by using high efficiency air conditioning and plumbing fixtures to reduce energy consumption, taking advantage of city supplied re-use water for irrigation rather than potable water along with employing best engineering practices in storm water collection and site management. The use of high efficiency plumbing fixtures and re-use irrigation water resulted in a 55% reduction in potable water consumption. The installation of Energy Star appliances and high efficient air conditioning systems has contributed to a 16.5% reduction in energy bills.

“As LEED-certified residences, the Waterside Neighborhood at Moorings Park serves as a model of greener living for the entire community,” said Nate Kredich, Vice President of Residential Market Development for the USGBC. “These homes set the example that we can all live better by reducing our environmental footprint, cutting our utility bills, and coming home to a greener place to live.”
