Residents Savor Puréed Foods

Making sure every resident has a tasty and fulfilling meal falls into the experienced hands of our dedicated chefs, who not only create delicious dishes for the majority of residents, but also for those who have difficulty swallowing solid food.

Chef Sergey Kashkin is the creative culinary force behind the meals served at Moorings Park. Chef Kashkin revealed the puréed meals he or his staff prepares are made fresh daily, and when they are served, it’s difficult visually to tell them apart from the food it represents.

“Our signature puréed program blends creativity with artistic flare aimed to bring back dining with dignity for those who suffer with the affliction of not being able to swallow solid foods,” stated Kashkin. “The type of meals that can be served puréed is endless.”

According to Chef Kashkin, the response from residents, and their family members, regarding the puréed meals has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Many of our residents can’t believe it truly is puréed food,” commented Kashkin. “The adult children of residents, who joined their parents for dinner at one of our restaurants, were very surprised at the presentation of the meal and extremely happy their mother or father could eat some of the foods they enjoyed in the past.”
