What Exactly is Sizzle SWFL Restaurant Week?

Restaurant week is good eats for a good cause. Sizzle SWFL Restaurant Week is actually TWO weeks of tasty food with a charitable bent to it. This 14-day event has a goal of inspiring locals to travel around Southern Florida and to try out restaurants that have been on their to-do list.

This Year's Event

2019’s Restaurant Week runs through June 12th. The participating restaurants will be offering specially created, carefully crafted menus just for the occasion. They will be fixed menus which will include a two-course lunch (ranging from $16-21) and/or three-course dinners (from $26-36). The best part? A portion of every purchase goes to supporting local scholarships.

Restaurant Week is More Than Just Tasty, It's Good for the Community

Participation Supports Local Restaurants

This event encourages tourists and locals to visit some of the best local dining options that you might not otherwise have been to yet. Maybe you've had a craving for some of the best seafood in the area but not had a chance to drive to any neighboring communities to check out their food selection. For two weeks, the world is your oyster. There are so many restaurants participating that you can fulfill any food category craving you might have.

Restaurants are participating in Naples, Downtown Naples, Bonita, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Marco Island. You can find everything from Surf and Turf at Ocean Prime in Downtown Naples to homemade ravioli at Maria's in Cape Coral.

You'll Be Supporting Local Students

One dollar from each Restaurant Week menu item sold is donated back to the FGCU Food and Beverage Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to be awarded each year to local high schoolers who plan to attend the Hospitality Food & Beverage Program and FGCU upon graduation.

This scholarship will help keep local kids who are interested in the hospitality industry here, in Southern Florida, where our culinary scene needs them. That way, our diverse and excellent restaurants in the area will continue to have a flow of qualified, talented individuals to staff our area restaurants.
